Not sure if anyone can help me with a recent problem I have. My flat is a lateral conversion that uses a gravity feed water system (main water tank in attic and smaller tanks in each flat) there is one flat above mine and one below me, we all share the same cold water supply.
Extremely nice new tenants have moved into the basement flat below me and installed a water pump for their new bathroom, a pump is a good solution as the header tank is not very high. Unfortunately I now get a very loud whooshing/hissing in my entire central heating system whenever the downstairs water pump is engaged. Not sure if this will cause a bigger problem when I put on the central heating on in the winter as I have never encountered this kind of problem before.
Can/should this problem be dealt with by the Council? Or would I need to get a plumber in to sort the problem?
