Leaseholders’ Forum Open Meeting and AGM
The Leaseholders’ Forum Open Meeting and Annual General Meeting will be on Tuesday, 17th June at 6.45pm, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, WC1H 9JE.

This is the opportunity for you to have your say.  We’ve been focussing on major works, HS2, communications, the LVT management charge issue and regeneration to varying degrees of success.  What would you like to see us focus on next year?  What projects do you want to get involved with?  Come and help us set the agenda for the next 12 months.

In the May 2010 local elections Labour won 30 out of the 54 seats available; this time they won 40 seats.  This time they plan to “set up a leaseholder commission to continue much-needed reform of the service.” We will have the new cabinet Head of Housing present to outline how the Cabinet sees the future of Camden’s housing.

Members will also be selecting a new Vice-Chair of the Forum.

The benefits of forming a Leaseholders’ Association
We have just published two “Step by Step Guides”.  In the first one we explain the potential benefits of forming a Leaseholders’ Association and walk you through the steps of setting one up.  Leaseholders’ Associations are different from TRAs and have extra powers – so they can be useful in addition to a TRA.  Read more by following this link.

Buying the freehold of your property
Our second guide concerns buying the freehold of your property (“enfranchisement”).  We talk through some of the benefits and potential risks, explain who qualifies and outline the journey.  Read more by following this link.

LVT update
As yet the LVT have not released their ruling on the management charge.  We are not totally surprised by the delay.  We are hopeful that there will be news before the end of the month, and those that have subscribed to receive LVT updates will get an email as soon as we hear anything!  The ruling will also be published on (although there is typically a bit of a delay before this happens).

That’s it for now!
