Resources which we think will be of benefit to leaseholders and freeholders living in Camden Council properties including a discussion board and guides.
There’s quite a few disgruntled Bourne Estate leaseholders. Not happy about paying £18-21k estimated to replace perfectly fine windows on all the buildings. Would be good if we can link up online to have a concerted effort to bring about a good result for us. Anyone else know if there is someone leading the efforts against the council or anyone else on here not happy with the proposed major works?
Hi,
Yes in Millman Street / Millman Place we have been struggling with window issues for years. As well as prospective threats we have replacements that are riddled with serious defects. I believe one of the Councillors is taking an interest in this.
You should consider getting together as leaseholders to challenge if the works are necessary and so reasonable and chargeable. There was a leaseholders association on the Bourne from 2002 to at least 2013. You could re-activate it. See our guidance paper from 2017 on this site. I do have details of those who ran it before, which I can let you have privately if you mean to progress this. I know at least one is still around.
Thank you all. Camden have held meetings for us to discuss concerns but claim we can only go to the tribunal for the charges once we are billed. Anyone else who knows of an example of Camden doing a U-turn after leaseholder pressure please let me know.
Peter, please do send me details of the association.
