      Hi there,

I live in a 1970’s block in Gospel Oak. BT have identified a fault with my line from the master socket to the distribution box on the estate. The fix is to run new cabling from my property to the box, however the council in their wisdom during a refurbishment of the cladding a couple of decades ago, have encased the existing BT cabling in fascia panels.

How do I go around getting BT permission to run cabling externally on the properties or along the roof and also getting Camden to install some conduit so that BT can in future replace other people’s old 1970s cabling if required?

Thanks. I am not clear why BT expect you to deal with this problem, as opposed to them. That is assuming you have a contract with them to supply you with a line. Where is your flat in Gospel Oak as the best port of call would be the TRA to take the matter up.

          Hi Peter,

I am part of the TRA, we are Wendling.

Yes, I already have a contract with them for a line, which has been fine for a couple of years. I’ll give BT a call and make it their problem in the first instance.

          Thanks.

Seems good to me, if that does not work happy to escalate in Camden.
