Are there any other leaseholders that would be interested in getting together and mounting a legal challenge against Camden and the excessive service charges ?

10th September 2021 at 08:51 #5997Yes, I’m interested. But charges for works are more of a rip off…
Best,
Bill10th September 2021 at 08:59 #5999Service charges or major works? I’ve got a claim re: billed but non existent services along with breach of lease for failing to keep in good substantial repair
19th September 2021 at 09:14 #6006We’ve also been charged for non existent services and I’m pretty sure we’d have a claim for breach of lease for failing to keep in good substantial repair
20th September 2021 at 07:48 #6007The Bourne Estate Leaseholders are going through ADR with the council this week. If we do not resolve the disputes regarding major works as well as service charges, we already have everything set to commence legal proceedings next month. Happy to discuss with others affected. However, it’s not possible to join someone else’s action because it will relate to a different property.
5th October 2021 at 14:01 #6017We are a group of leasholeders who got together against what we call Scamden. Unless part of the same estate is very difficult to fight it.
However, we are all very tired of receiving extortionate service charges, adjustments, major works charges..especially when works are not done or not done properly
Please volunteer to join the New Forum and let’s try to make them hear our voices.19th October 2021 at 12:21 #6023Yes, I’d be interested in getting together to mount a co-ordinated response to Camden re service charges. I have already challenged them for caretaking services, which is one the the major charge of annual service charge. It continues to go up, whilst freqeency of “cleaning” has decreased from weekly to every 2 weeks at best.
I will be going and registering a complaint with the ombudsman if I can. https://complaints.lgo.org.uk/portal/ (LGO)
I live on MAITLAND PARK estate NW3. I am a leaseholder.
Thanks

Aromanes46@gmail.com19th October 2021 at 13:26 #6026Hi Suzy, thanks for your message I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with the ombudsman. I’m a leaseholder in XY Development now part of maiden lane.
20th October 2021 at 07:52 #6029They keep laughing at me. Every time, I call them to claim works that have not done or completed they take the message and never come back. Inefficiency along with a clear unbalance relationship between the leaseholder and the council of Camden constitute an abuse of power.
I only want to sell my property and run away. They have lace people in other flats within the same building who are not even keen to collaborate with clean of comunal areas. Living in as a leaseholder in a Camden Council building is as dangerous as living in the old farwest. You never know when are they going to steel your money next.
We need to get together to limit Camden Council and stop its abuse of power against leaseholders.20th October 2021 at 07:58 #6030Hi All,
Having received an adjustment for service charges for last year. I’m going to submit a claim under s19 of the l&t act to the tribunal for reasonableness. Would be keen to work with others as Camden do not have a clue when it comes to leasehold. Is there a way we can make contact with one another? I’d like to get a claim submitted within the next 10 days or so.
20th October 2021 at 08:02 #6032Yes – would be interested but also interested in contesting major works charges.
Greg18 – how does one submit a claim ‘under s19 of the l&t act’ please?
