The Bourne Estate Leaseholders will be facing the legal team of Camden Council in June 2022 at the First-tier Tribunal in a two day trial/hearing to dispute the major works charges.

We have had lots of enquiries from other leaseholders and estates asking about how we handled the council and got to this point but we don’t have the resources to reply to every enquiry in detail or at all. We are asking the Tribunal if non-applicants can observe proceedings. If they can, this will be an opportunity to hear the arguments and ask leaseholders questions about what we have done.

At present, the hearing is by video call but we are hoping restrictions will be relaxed to allow members of the public to attend an in person hearing. Please make contact if you would like to observe the hearing at:

I would be interested in observing the hearing as expensive Major works are being planned for my estate (Charlton Court). How can I get involved?

Thanks to all those who contacted us by email or on this website. The hearing will take place in w/c 20 June over two days. The hearing is still set to be heard by video call. We have asked whether it can be in person and if you can attend. The case officer is away but we should know later this month. The exact dates and times will only be provided if we are given permission to invite non-Applicants.

please do let us know if we can observe as we will be travelling that road in the near future. I suspect that it will be a no as if they have to come to a financial agreement with you they usually make you sign a non disclosure agreement

Most of you on here have emailed me directly. It’s been confirmed that observers can attend the two day hearing on 21 and 22 June. An email will be sent to all of you next week with further details. If you have NOT yet emailed directly, please find our email address at https://beleaseholders.8b.io and drop a quick email there to add you to the group email.

Out of 17 we emailed inviting to observe the proceedings, four have responded to request attendance. Please check your junk email if you have previously registered interest but have not seen your invitation. You can also email in again.

Hi Does anyone know the outcome of the June tribunal hearing? Is there a written judgement ?

The decision is taking longer than expected, which is why anyone who asked to be on the email list has not received further updates. We will email as soon as we have a decision! Good advice and templates are available from: lease-advice.org
